How it works
- 01
Set up the scenario
Leave a recognizable reason for calling and an easy way to respond.
- 02
Role-play the conversation
The customer starts with: “I’m unavailable. Please leave a message after the beep.” Adapt your questions based on their response.
- 03
Review, then try again
Review the message on its own: who’s calling, why, and how to respond. Don’t go into the details.
What does this practice session look like?
The contact is unavailable. You were supposed to follow up on the scope of a service.
The customer says: “I’m unavailable. Please leave a message after the beep.” Here’s one possible response.
“Hi, this is Camille, calling about the scope of the service we were going to review. You can reply to my email to find a time to talk. Have a great day.”
What scenario should you practice?
You’re calling back after an agreed conversation and reach voicemail. The message will be heard between other activities. Make the topic recognizable without sharing confidential information.
Give your name, a recognizable context, and a simple next step. In the product, the AI plays a voicemail greeting and lets you speak after the beep, without pretending to have a conversation that isn’t happening.

What phrases can you try?
Adapt these to your own words. They’re for practicing an approach, not reciting a script.
- “Hi, this is [first name] from [company], calling about the point we were going to revisit on [topic].”
- “I suggest we review [specific question] together.”
- “You can call me back at [number] or reply to my email. Have a great day.”
What mistakes should you look for in the debrief?
Review your phrases in the call report and look for these.
- Going through the entire pitch.
- Saying your number too quickly.
- Mentioning personal information or a sensitive matter on a shared voicemail.
What exercise should you do this week?
Write your message, then say it without reading. Remove every detail that doesn’t help the listener understand why they should call you back. The audio is used to generate a transcript and then deleted; the debrief focuses on the text.
Change only one thing at a time. A simulation doesn’t guarantee results on your real calls. It gives you a place to practice. See call simulations and pricing.
